What is this rash on my baby's face?

There is a rash on muy 3 month old’s face (cheeks, chin, jaw). She uses a pacifier, doesn’t drool much but does spit up quite a bit. I know its not ringworms bit it appears kind of clustery and slightly more red than her normal complexion. The skin around there seems a little dry but its not eczema. Any Idea what this could be and how I could treat it? Our next dr’s appt is in april and the dr said not to bother coming in of its not itchy or causing health problems (she’s 3 months old.. i can’t tell if its itchy).

My baby had a really bad rash on his face when he was about 2 months, I took him to the Doctor, and he told me it was dry skin. He told me to go to the drug store and by Cetaphil cream. It is in the normal cream section, not the baby section. I used it and it seemed to get redder at first but then it went away. It really worked wonders, now I put it on his face everyday and it hasn’t come back

It is called ‘baby acne.’ It is totally normal and will clear up on it’s own. Just keep her clean and dry.

As a Nurse I would Say you doctor is a MORON find a new one…. any normal doctor would tell you to come in and be seen immediately a it could be bacterial.. take her to another doctor or call yours and say you want her seen… or go to ER… really doctors laziness amaze me now a days.. as a mother of 4 kids I would not of tolerated hearing do not come in I would of been like she is 3 months old I want it looked at NOW

Have you thought that your baby might be allergic to the formula she is taking? One way to tell is that she spits so much. Her stomach is saying "I don’t like this" and her skin is also. If you are giving her cow’s milk, it might be too rich for her. Try non-fat milk for about 3 days and see if she improves. If she often gets what looks like a cold, runny nose, chest congestion, earache, she is probably allergic to milk of any kind. Try a soymilk formula. That usually works. Margaret
