What are some remedies for eczema?
I have had eczema since i was a baby, and i have been growing out of it, like its not bad on my face (sometimes though, but i don’t really get acne due to already having eczema(: ) and my arms as better as well, but its my legs that are really pushing it. I have Aveeno lotion, a neutrogena lotion, I have an ointment prescribed by my dermatologist, pills also that help my itching and i occasionally go tanning, but when i go tanning, i dry out. should i take a shower after i go tanning?
And is it stress that’s mostly causing it? I do scratch at night, i have cats and a dog -____- im allergic to dogs but i never thought it was that bad. should i avoid contact with my pets, and cover up my skin.? And does aloe vera work? I’m just really desperate for remedies and tips. My legs have gotten really red and rashy the past few days, thank you x

Here are some tips that answer all your questions:
- Take 4 cups of oatmeal (powdered is best) and mix it with warm bathwater, soak for about 15 mins, rinse with more warm water and pat yourself dry (dont rub!).
- Make a paste out of oatmeal and warm water and put it on your face like mask or on the affected area
- Leave raw honey on affected areas for 20 minutes then rinse off with warm water
- Take natural supplements like fish oil, vitamin E, and vitamin C
- Keep your skin moisturized, use creams with blueberry or licorice extract
- Cut out or reduce milk, eggs, peanuts, sugar and spicy foods from your diet
- Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day
- Don’t scratch! It may cause infection and make it worse. If you scratch while asleep then wear cotton gloves
- Keep your nails short and rounded so you dont puncture the skin if you do scratch
- Dust and dust mites can worsen eczema, so keep your room clean and change bedclothes regulary
- Stay calm. Stress is a common eczema trigger, so try to avoid situations that make you tense.
And most importantly STAY AWAY from your allergies! You’ll never get rid of it if you stay close to whats causing your eczema!

Raw food diet (if you go on this diet, take a Vitamin B12 and Iron supplement daily).
Eczema could be a sign that you’re not getting enough of one or more of the following nutrients: zinc, Essential fatty acids, Pantothenic acid (B5).
google it, to see for yourself!
quit tanning. it makes it worse.
use (organic, if possible) coconut oil as a moisturizer.
Skittles is totally wrong. Ask any doctor and they’ll tell you that light therapy is about the ONLY thing that will properly treat excema. It’s your choice. Go to a dermatologist and pay $100 per session, expose the skin to sun for awhile for free (not long, don’t burn), or hit a tanning bed for abpit 5-10 minutes for about $5 or less. To stop your skin from drying out use a tanning lotion with hypoallergenic ingredients and no fragrance.
I’ve had eczema since I was a baby too, but I’ve never heard of tanning to help it. How does that work??
Anyway… The best advice my doctor has ever given me was to stay away from all Sodium Lauryl Sulfate/Sodium Laureth Sulfate products. They are the WORST ingredient to use on skin with eczema, and in some cases eczema is a reaction to harsh skin cleansers….which is a pain because almost all soaps and shampoos have SLS in them. If you have eczema then it’s HIGHLY IRRITATING for your skin…..and don’t be fooled by soap bottles that say they’re gentle for sensitive skin – check the ingredients list!
SLS is the same ingredient you use to wash your hair as you wash your car with….so in the same way it dissolves the grease off your car engine, is also dissolves the oils on your skin, which causes a drying effect….which means you need to moisturize twice as much.
Have you tried Aqueous cream?? My doctor recommended it to me and it made a big difference for me, so maybe you’d like to give it a go. I also love Sukin products (www.sukinorganics.com.au) – they are all very gentle and all SLS free.
Soooo I really recommend familiarizing yourself with the chemicals you put on your skin, so you understand more about the effect they have on your skin….I know it’s a pain in the butt, but I think I can say I’m in the same boat as you, and I hope I’ve given some decent advice.
The main cause of eczema is overreaction of the immune system. Identifying certain foods, chemicals, etc can be very helpful in battling this disease. I try to avoid soy and milk products which trigger my flare-ups.
After using number of prescription drugs I’ve turned to the natural treatments.
Now I use serenaskin herbal remedies.
After about 2 weeks of using ointment and spray my skin has been cleared up and now I continue with eczema extract, which controls the immune system. My skin has been clear for months now.
It is the only treatment I have found that provides me complete relief when I use it as directed.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW!!
the body can heal itself when it has the propper nutrients.. if you combine that with removing the bacteria .. opening and cleaning the skin pores .. propper skin hydration and over all nutrition.. then anyone can have clear skin. You know back in the 1930′s a person killed a tumor under the skin by applying a poltice of smashed grapes and a dead fish.. wrapping it and leaving it on there a few days.. there are many uncoventional cures.. but if you look at them… a lot of them come from natural organic sources. You want cured.. you want an end to your misery.. you want beautiful healthy skin.. then start looking at it from an over all bodily perspect and treat it from the inside out.
