my son has always had a problem with eczema…but a couple days ago…we were in the car for a few miutes…and I noticed him itching all over…I thought…well another break out…and started our usual treatment for eczema…however…yesturday he woke up…and literally had bumps all over his face, neck, scalp, arms from top to bottom…legs are covered with bumps…none on the back or belly…took him to the doctor…she said eczema…he was getting worse with itching etc…to him to the ER cuz now his eyes were getting bumps…they said eczema…gave him steroids again..I’ve never seen anything like this….I use oatmeal body wash….soap with no perfume…baby laundry soap…eucerin calming cream…and benadryl for the itching…any tips on what this could be…all i have researched…it doesn’t seem like eczema
ty very much Dorothy…and t6o the others who read the whole question…I have researched images…and find nothing close to what he has…especially since it’s every where but his belly and back…just went and bought Aveeno oatmeal bath…maybe he can get relief in that way…Dorothy I will check into your tips
ETA….these bumpas are about the size of flea bites…very few are red….some are white in color…I have no pets at all…shampooed the carpet to hopefully clear any unseen things…washed all clothing and bedding…no changes in diet or soaps…his regular doctor is back home in Indianapolis…I’m visiting Florida….been here 3 weeks…not sure if the heat plays a role…but wouldn’t this have started when we arrived…again I have dealt with him and eczema…I’m confused…I can’t find any images on what this is…I really don’t think the doctors knew…just said…hey give him Prelone syrup(steroids)….gosh..I would take this from him in a second if I could
inj the link…his looks similar to the pic on the left side very top (pic) but the bumps are just a little more spread apart

also the symptoms they describe don’t match anything of my son…he’s itching etc…and again nothing on belly, back…or butt as they describe

Dyshidrotic eczema on my arms and legs, any ideas for treatment?

Question by JLR: Dyshidrotic eczema on my arms and legs, any ideas for treatment?
I have had Dyshidrotic eczema since I was four years old. But I was only recently correctly diagnosied. My doctor told to use Vasoline intensive care all the time, and he has me using a steriod cream as well. The funny thing is growing up I only had it on my arms and legs. Only in the last year or two have I had any on my hands, and my hands still dont get it that bad. I only have outbreaks in the spring and early summer when Im first in the sun. They come about 12 hours after my exposure, and they taper off as the season progresses and my skin gets more exposure to the sun. Does anyone else have these symptoms, and if so what are you doing to help reduce outbreaks?

i get this too, mostly when i am stresses (i have major exams soon) or if i have been in the sun or i am not drinking enough water. Also, sweat makes everything a whole lot worse. try some aqueous cream for just during the day to keep it from going super dry and flaky, then, at night, i use hydroquaterzone cream which works wonders! it is practically gone in a week. you will have to go ask your doctor though about them, but if you cant find aqueous, try anything that is colourless and fragrence free that is suitable for dry skin.

also, when you shower, invest in a really gentle wash, made for sensitive skin, and contains a bit of moisturizer. that really helps

hope all is better!

What could I have? (rash, weeping breasts)?

January 9th, 2011 Guest Author 1 comment

In July I got a strange rash on both of my forearms. Since then it has spread all up an down my arms, neck, parts of my stomach, then started on my legs and has just recently spread to my breasts, since they have reached that area my nipples have been discharging some type of yellowish liquid. The rash is reddish and often forms in circles but is not contagious. My mom has eczema and that is currently what I am assuming it is. I didn’t change any soaps etc. when it had started although I did start seeing my current boy friend then and I have a strange suspicion I am allergic to him… if that is possible. I am 17, I live on my own and my parents do not have insurance which is why I have been avoiding the doctor. Any suggestions as to what the rash is, why I have it, and how to treat it would be greatly appreciated!! Thank You!

Is there any help for severe eczema?

I have a friend with terrible eczema. His skin on the back of his legs is especially bad. It is flaky as can be and bleeding frequently threw his pants a little. Is it true there’s no cure? If a photo was taken of his skin close up you would want to gag looking at it. You wouldn’t believe that it was a person’s skin that you were looking at. I feel horrible for him. The creams he’s prescribed to don’t seem to help at all. What’s out there that might help him?
