Hi! The yellow flakes are an indication of cradle cap. But, since there are red marks and it is also on her face, it could be a fungal infection.

Because of the spread and redness, your best bet would be to have the doctor take a peek just to make sure it’s not fungal.

If you find it is cradle cap, I’ve copied an answer I gave not so long ago about how to handle it at home. Again, please be sure that it isn’t a fungal infection before treating for cradle cap – okay?

    I hope this helps!

    Other answer:

…Give him a bath. Gently massage his scalp with a soft facecloth and his baby shampoo. Rinse it really well after. Then, apply a bit of baby oil; massage it gently into his scalp.

The washing with a facecloth will loosen all the yucky flakes. The baby oil will make his hair greasy (little Elvis!), but it will help to soften and moisten the area, which will help stop the itch. After this, I would reapply the baby oil periodically throughout the day for a few days without re-washing his hair. I’d rewash in a day or two, and if it hasn’t healed do it for another few days. But, it will probably be looking better after the first round.

    I hope this helps hon!

your only fourteen!? woah! i could never do that. well, my sister is two, so i was around for all of it. she was like that. you just need to wash her face better, with baby soap, and put some aveeno or johnsons baby lotion on it. good luck

I say call up your daughter’s pediatrician and take her to the doctor. The pediatrician is the specialist, not us (unless there is a pediatrician posting here, but you couldn’t and shouldn’t trust that anyway.) We could say a number of things that it could be, but that would be pointless.

This is not the forum to ask important questions like that Sweety. Take your baby to a pediatrician who will either tell you and give you a prescription for the baby, or recommend a dermatologist.

sounds like cradle cap, when you give her a bath just use a wet wash cloth to wash her hair and put a little baby shampoo in it and wash it with the cloth if she dont have a lot of hair rinse it with the cloth too, u can use head and shoulders shampoo a small amount and it will help to take it away alittle faster, but dont get in her eyes, and it will eventually go away, you will see smaller and smaller areas after it starts to go away, all three of my kids had it, but not to the point of having to worry about it, just dont pick at it, because you can cause it to bleed and get sore and in some cases cause it to get infected, but anyways try the head and shoulders, i used it a few times, but for the most part the baby shampoo worked fine, but its not gonna go away in a day or two, it will take a couple of weeks, inless she has a bad case of it, then you need to take her to the doctors, and they will give you something to clear it up

Your best bet would be your pediatrician.
I have some ideas but their not 100%. The red bumps could possibly be baby acne. Or maybe if your using a new fabric softener that she’s having a reaction too.
And the flakes on her head is cradle cap. Almost every baby gets it. What I did for my daughters was I put baby oil on her head 10 mins before her bath then brushed through it with a baby comb and rinsed it out. It took a few weeks but my daughters head is clear now.

I’m not positive on the red bumps though so your pediatrician would be able to answer that one a lot better than we would.
    Good luck
