I have a severe flare up of Eczema? What can I do?

I have a doctor appointment friday, but thats a whole week from now. What can I do to help control it and tone down the redness until then? I really need all the answers I can get, so please tell me any remedies you know of for eczema. Im very desperate- it is so embarrassing.

You probably know all this but:

Avoid daily showers. You don’t need it and it just strips your skin of moisture. While in the shower, use warm (not hot) water.

Use Cetaphil to cleanse your skin instead of soap. This can be used without showering as well as in the shower.

Use a thick moisturizer like Aquaphor.

Protect your skin from the cold and from wind-burn with appropriate clothes, like a long coat that covers your butt and thighs.

Run a vaporizer or humidifier in your bedroom at night and if you can, as many other rooms as you can.

Turn the heat down before bed to keep the air from becoming too dry.

Go to Target and get the anti-itch creme that is the Target brand.
It has hydrocortisone in it and that is what you need for Eczema.
If you cannot find it just ask the pharmacy and they will show you where it is. Apply it 3 to 4 times daily. It sure will do the job just give it time. This is a dry season and it is a good idea to put your humidifier on to help your dry skin too.
