How do/did you treat your child's eczema?

Both of my kids (a 2-year-old and a 6-month-old) have eczema. I’ve tried trimacinolone on my first whne he was a baby, but it was too strong and dried up his skin even more. Now I’m just using hydrocortisone to relieve the itching so he wouldn’t scratch. My 6-month-old has it around his mouth and it’s red. I’m using California Baby wash and the lotion and some Aquaphor to seal it in. I’m not sure it’s helping. His skin is really dry still. Any suggestions?
The California Baby products are made for sensitive skin— fragrance-free, paraben-free, no alcohols and nut oils, etc.

Yes, I am using Aquaphor!

Try Shea Butter. It’s boiled out of the Karite nut and it’s a thick buttery cream and it’s safe to use around the mouth. It’s been used for centuries in Africa to heal eczema. I’ve been using it for years now and my skin has totally changed. There is one line I like the best because they don’t use anything in it, it’s just pure Shea Butter. It’s made by Pre de Provence. Most of them are not 100%, or they have fragrance in it. If you search the name it’ll come up with a bunch of places to buy it online and sometimes little beauty stores or boutiques will sell it. They make great all natural, mild soaps too. The milk soap is great and very gentle on a babies skin.

I use Aveeno soaps and lotions and Gentle Naturals eczema cream. I apply the gentle natuals 1-2 times daily and it works great.
Never use anything with fragrance or colors!
