Getting sick and tired of my eczema.?

I can’t stand it anymore.
I’ve had eczema since birth and I hate it.
I don’t take hot showers, I apply lotion AND Vaseline right after.
I guess it’s just scratching that makes it worse.
I’m at the point where, it hurts to walk (let alone bend my legs), and I’m completely embarrassed to be seen in public in shorts because of the eczema on the back of my knees.

Does anyone know any good home remedies or tips on how to reduce the inflammation?

    Well….I’m eczematic since birth too…. n I’m also a pharmacist…
I would first recommend to keep ur skin moisturized all time…
so keep the lotion and vaseline .and maybe trying more solid creams would help u more as it lasts longer on your skin n keeps it moisturized for a long period of time.. and don’t let your skin get dry… specially in season changing times….
remember…dry hot weather makes it worse…so you need to take care more….
Secondly… When you feel like you’re having a raging eczema… u can try corticosteroids creams….
Thirdly… as an eczematic …. u can only wear cotton clothing !!!! this is way important…. fibers other than cotton may get u waitchyhy !!
…you didn’t mention your age…. but as you get older you’re eczema will get better… when I was a kid I remember scratchingng until bleeding… now as I am 22 I rarely feel eczema…. so cheer up…
    I hope I helped

My son suffered from this. The only thing that helped him was a lotion called Aquaphilic. It’s about ten dollars for 16 oz. You can find it at http://www.medcolab.com, or ask you local drugstore to order it. I hope it can help you.

The main cause of eczema is overreaction of the immune system. Identifying certain foods, chemicals, etc can be very helpful in battling this disease. I try to avoid soy and sea food which trigger my flare-ups.
After using number of prescription drugs I’ve turned to the natural treatments.
Now I use herbal remedies from serenaskin.com, which aim at the root of the disease – the immune system, and are steroid-free.
After about 3 weeks of using ointment and spray my skin has been cleared up and now I just continue with anti-eczema extract, which controls the immune system. My skin has been clear for months now.
It is the only treatment I have found that provides me complete relief when I use it as directed.
