CAN YOU HELP ME DIAGNOSE MY BF'S SKIN PROBLEM? [[[PIC INCLUDED]]]?

this may be a bit gross to some of you but it would really help to check out the picture so that i won’t have to describe how it looks.

he’s been suffering from this for almost 6 years.
it disappeared for 3 months but then it’s back again.
sometimes it’s so itchy that he’d scratched it so hard and wounded it then it flakes off after a day or two.
the skin doesn’t always look like the ones on the link. it only does when it itches so bad.
do you think this is eczema? or some kind of an allergy?
and what are some HOME REMEDIES that you could suggest?

i really hope you could respond. thank you very much.

we’ve been to several dermatologists before but their prescriptions didn’t work. some said it’s allergy while others said it’s eczema. i don’t know who’s right.
he doesn’t believe in that kind of stuff either but i think i can convince him. it’s worth the try. after all, we have nothing to lose except maybe this annoying skin disease.

thank you very much for your response.

    Sloth Queen,
The presentation resembles plaque psoriasis or maybe excema. There are otc medications and prescription medications. Two exceedingly effective prescription medications are Elidel – Pimecrolimus – 60 g cream and, one of the most and successful recent additions – Bonalfa – Talcalcitol – 50 g ointment. They have been prescribed for both conditions.

If he’s tried a bunch of medicine and none of it’s worked, maybe try accupuncture. My girlfriend started getting chronic idiopathic urticaria (i.e., random hives) and accupuncture has helped her a lot. I find it hard to believe in that witch doctory myself, but hell, I figure a condition so inexplicable and illogical probably can only be "cured" by something equally inexplicable and illogical.

    Psoriasis suspected.
    * Stop eating food after 6:00 pm.
    * Stop eating red meat.
    * Don’t eat food stuffs in which tamarind has been added.
    * Fish purchased from the market as fresh and prepared as fish curry at home.
Use alternate medicine to treat the problem.
